As our company grows and the world around us changes, it’s important that our employees are also ABLE to take time to relax with their families.
The decision to cancel pickups on certain holidays did not come lightly, as we strive to provide easily accessible composting for everyone in our community year-round. Out of respect for our employees, we believe this change is necessary. Our drivers work exceptionally hard every day of the year, and deserve this time off to be with loved ones.
What if my pickup falls on a holiday you are closed?
If your pickup falls on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day we will credit one monthly bill to reflect the skipped pickup. This credit may appear on your November, December, or January bill. This process cannot be automated; our staff has to credit each customer individually, so we appreciate your patience as we do this.
You will not see skipped pickup credits in the monthly payment reminder email that you receive three days before your charge date, but the actual amount you’re charged will reflect any discounts or purchases that month.
You are permitted to leave out one extra bucket (5 gallons) of compost with your first regularly scheduled pickup after the skipped holiday. We will take up to 5 gallons of overload at no cost with this pickup only to get you back on track. Anything exceeding 5 extra gallons will be charged to your next bill at $1/gallon.
If you’re signed up for yearly billing, you’re already receiving 1-3 months free, so no refund will be issued for a skipped holiday pickup. We may be able to reschedule yearly customers only to the week before or after the holiday depending on your existing schedule. We cannot guarantee this will be possible, but will do our best to accommodate when we can. Please give us at least 2 weeks notice to request to reschedule any pickups during the holiday season.
We will not be automatically rescheduling holiday pickups. Please contact our office if you have any questions or concerns regarding holiday closures.
